A Hikers of Iredell Club wiki with 319 articles
We are building the ultimate guide to everything Hikers of Iredell Club and you can help.
Welcome to the official Hikers of Iredell Club Wiki. The Hikers of Iredell Club is a social interest group in Iredell County North Carolina targeted to trail hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
The club is primarily focused on day hikes ranging from 3 to 20 miles, but the club also infrequently facilitates hikes beyond the normal day hike driving range with over night trips. The group tries to offer a variety of difficulty levels for both beginner hikers, and hikers seeking a challenge. The club also encourages participation in community advancement including periodic participation in local greenway clean up efforts and trail maintenance with the local state park system.
The club is also working to disseminate the information we are able to collect on the trail to a broader audience. It is our goal to give enough information for you to form your own hikes. This wiki includes day hike information for area trails and suggested itineraries, sometimes with expected timetable information and what to expect in terms of trail difficulty.
While editing the hike information is restricted to account holders due to the idea that wikis are prime real estate for advertisement vandalism, all articles are publicly available for everyone's perusal. If you would like to participate in this project or if you find the information presented by this website helpful, please send a note to Dee at iredellhikers@gmail.com.
Community Involvement
The Hikers of Iredell have contributed to several community initiatives including greenway clean-up, and trail maintenance at Lake Norman State Park. The club is also among the list of donors to the Carolina Thread Trail. On October 3, 2017 the club dedicated a park bench located near the Statesville Park & Recreations Center on the Statesville Greenway.
