This trail features 19 stream crossings on the way to the cabin. Watch weather reports for rainfall in the period 24 hours prior to the hike start. Even moderate rainfalls can eventually add up to creek levels that are difficult to traverse.
This scheduled hike is our first return to Caudill Cabin since September 8, 2012. This is a true hidden gem that few venture; the backcountry's proximity to Stone Mountain State Park means this park gets relatively limited amounts of hiking traffic.
This hike is strenuous and the creek crossings are boulder hops, slips and falls are quite common so you need your balance A-game, but those that take up the challenge are amply rewarded. Join me and the rest of the HICs in signing the register inside the Caudill Cabin.

Meet at Newtowne Shopping Center, 3/7/2015, 7:00 AM
Expect to share cost of gas with drivers, roughly 5 or 6 dollars per passenger assuming vehicle has driver and three passengers. This is solely to help offset cost to drivers for not only gas, but hidden costs such as tire wear, oil changes, car washes (especially if drive traverses dirt roads), etc. The club would rather have drivers over-compensated than under-compensated to encourage them to continue offering their services.
