Florence Nature Preserve is park located between Gerton and Bearwallow in Western North Carolina. The lands are managed by the Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy through the generous 600-acre donation of Tom and Glenna Florence.

How to get there
Directions to trailhead from JR's. Distance - approximately 104 miles (one way). | ||||||
Follow I-40 W to Catawba Ave in Old Fort. Take exit 73 from I-40 W; 81.2 mi | ||||||
Turn left onto Catawba Ave; 0.1 mi (We will meet at the McDonald's here, on the right after going under the interstate, for a bathroom break) | ||||||
Continue onto Bat Cave Rd; 6.8 mi | ||||||
Continue onto Old Fort Rd; 4.8 mi | ||||||
Turn left onto NC-9 S; 6.9 mi | ||||||
Turn right onto US-74 ALT W; 3.6 mi | ||||||
Trailhead is on right. There is a stone wall and an old chimney.
Little Mount Pisgah ConfusionWhy are there two? There seems to be some confusion around the Little Pisgah Mountain. Two mountains in Henderson County are called Little Pisgah Mountain[Verification needed]. Screenshots say it all.
